no, it could be anything from bad gas to a Bad MAF. Get real specific in your trial and errors,

Default Hey, don't beat around the bush. If your CEL light was on for a couple of weeks...

I assumed you got it cleared right? If you cleared it and came back on for the same problem, then it is a recurent problem, <b>cal APR</b>.

Default It's possible you have a vacuum leak. What's called a "false air" situation

I used to throw those codes all the time when I first installed the supercharger on my B5. A vacuum leak was causing a false air situation causing the ECU to think it was running lean. This would cause the ECU to add fuel actually leading to a rich running situation. I would notice soot buildup around my tailpipe after driving around like that. If you monitor your long term fuel trim you can monitor your engines lambda. If you see the long term trim anything more than +/- 5% you got something wrong.

Default oh excellent point, been a while since that happend to me, i forgot about it

and if it happened gradual he wouldnt realize the loss of power.

Yes, if you blew your stock bpv just a tad even, it will make thsoe reading.

Check the DV.

Default Oh, if monitoring you long term trim, you have to make sure the system is in open loop

It usually takes about 5 minutes of running for the engine to warm up, then the ecu starts taking readings off the O2 sensors and starts performing lambda adjustments. When I say the probem, the engine would start running rich right when engine went into open loop. It would rich out (not a word) within 1 min.

I agree with you that the DV is a good place to start looking

Default i would have to say without actual stats, vaccum leaks are usually DV, then the hose

that connects directly to the TBA from the intercooler
