Keep pulling trouble code P0441

My car: 2003 Audi A4 3.0 Quattro A/T

Ok so I am completely confused, I have replace the purge canister and fuel filter. code went away but came back very shortly after...
My mpg is not where it should be and sometimes when I have it in park sitting at idle the rpms drop a little bit (500) then jump back up to normal (about 900-1000)

if its a vacuum leak, how do i check that? and what tools do i use?

Also, the bad Purge canister that i had changed made a very loud clicking noise, when I installed the new one, it didn't make that noise. At least not as loud, but now it is doing it again? any suggestions and/or solutions are appreciated!

Sounds more like you have a bad N80 EVAP purge solenoid. They get stuck open.

where is that loacated?? Is it possible you can post a pic?? If not i will be lost in the dark looking for it... would that give me the bad mpg

It's a solenoid valve that's attached to the line coming from the EVAP canister and is located usually along with the fuel lines coming into the engine compartment on the passenger side. The line after the N80 valve goes to a port on the throttle body. I believe the part number on it is 1C0-906-517-A.

that is what i have already replaced i was told it was a purge canister though

The EVAP canister is in the rear of the car on the bottom of the spare tire well. You will need to actually run a EVAP test to really determine waht is going on IMO.

I remember reading that a bad canister will do the following: when you go to the fuel pump the pump will keep clicking off even when the tank is not full. I hope this helps.
