Let the custom tuning products wars begin - APR V-Tune
<center><img src="http://www.goapr.com/images/vtune_ss_basic.jpg"></center><p>
From a thread by APR on Vortex in the 1.8T forum.
Pic is of the basic tuning screen.......
Since info is beginning to trickle out about V-Tune a brief explanation is probably needed. We are in the final stages of testing, via a group of Beta testers that will use the system and provide insight on ways to improve and enhance the user side of V-Tune.
V-Tune is an application that will allow for the modification of certain parameters of engine management. Specifically, V-Tune will allow you to change Boost, Timing, A/F ratio, Idle speed, etc... There is an option for advanced fuel control which should only be used by those with knowledge of engine tuning. Changes to this portion of V-Tune, if made improperly, can effect your engine in a less than desirable way. Thus modifications will be made at your own risk. These changes will be made via the V-tune Software provided by APR thru either our Direct Port Cable or thru a VAG-Com Diagnostic (serial) cable.
V-Tune will be available to current DPP customers and new customers at no additional charge (until the end of March when it will be offered as a feature, like FCE/TBA). This option will be available for DPP initially, though we will begin to offer this feature to EMCS chip owners shortly. We will be posting screen shots of V-Tune in the very near future so please keep an eye out for more information.
Thanks.

You know (Thread Hij)... Since you are the director of marketing for APR, I'd like to ask you -m-
a question... Whatever became of APR v. REVo? There hasn't been much information as of late regarding the lawsuit. Just wondering if you can comment. TIA

THAT IS DISGUSTINGLY COOL! Imagine the following setup
LCD touchscreen in car, with V-tined hardwired into the ECU.
APR stage 3 turbo kit and you have all the setting to play with for track use, drag racing etc...
It would be like engine and fuel managment systems in some other cars (supra is only one I can name now).
Im not sure why but this was never possibly with audis. Very interesting stuff.

the real power is we can now use whatever parts we want...
essentially giving us free range of the software and doing our own engine management
this could SIGNIFICANTLY increase turn around and application and APR or audiworld should have a forum just for testing and saving of multitudes of custom settings.

sweet-how much-?is APR coming out with a fuel rail soon?
cause that is the weak point on the audis and vws. My friends ATP GTI makes 400 crank but he has to get Apexi AVR or whatever those things are cause ATP prog suck-but hehad a stock fuel rail and was losing about 40hp? IDK? but he replaced it and it jumped to 405 crank

Very cool, but basically useless
We need to be able to make our own maps and use real numbers, not percents. Flat adjustments with no number attached are less than useful.
Oh, and you can already do some of them via a VAG tool anyway.

I'm curious - are you currently one of the beta testers?
because you seem to know what this program can and cannot do. I'd really like to find out more about the program and was wondering if you are familiar with it if you could tell us how it works to adjust these parameters?
