Default Um, you have it backwards. Horsepower is a function of torque...

Default Not true - torque can exist with Zero power.
You don't need rotation to have torque.

Stand on a tree branch - you are creating torque where the branch meets the tree. However as the branch isn't moving (rotating) there is no power.

Default Correct. Seems people need a tutorial on the difference between torque and hp.
Let's start with this...

horsepower = torque * rpm / 5252

Discuss...
