Default Looking for some input

Hey everyone...I did a search on this topic, but wasnt able to find too much...

I have a 03 A4 1.8T and Im under warranty still and when I was doing an oil change this past weekend I noticed a sizeable amount of oil on the under skid panel and upon further inspection it seemed to be coming out of the turbo outlet pipe on the right front passenger side. Talking to my dad, he thinks the seal on the turbo is going, bringing it Wednesday to get it taken care of, but just wanted to see if anyone has experienced it for my own knowledge...TIA

Default I have an '03 1.8T and I have not had any issues with the turbo (I have 58K miles on it)

How many miles are you at? I assume since you are under warranty you've been taking it in for scheduled maintenance.

Default Yeah Im at 43,200 and have been taking it in every 10k

So as long as its taken care of, I'll be happy....Even happier if I get a new turbo out of it

Although my initial feeling is they may just change out a gasket depending on the severity.
Its definetly a slow leak, nothing too substantial, but enough to leave a good residue on the drip pan underneath.

Im also wondering if it has something to do with the crazy erratic temperature changes we've been having in Boston this winter. Maybe something just expanded and moved around wrong....

Besides the oil residue, did you notice any difference while driving?

Default No it definetly has been driving fine...

Nothing that I can notice.....someone on the B5 forum said it might be from the crankcase ventilation...
