my friend has a 2003 A4 3.0 that needs a battery replaced, he was quoted $280, does this sound right

I purchased a new battery from the Audi dealer for about $110. Installation wasn't difficult, but it was certainly a bigger PITA than a battery replacement on most other cars I've done it on. Without special tools, I had to remove a support beam (5 bolts) first, to get at the bolt holding the battery down.
$300 is a bit of a rip off; it shouldn't take a mechanic more than an hours labor to perform the job.
