So I have a 5 speed stick on an 03 1.8t quattro. The tranny is done.

How much do you reckon this will set me back? I got a new transmission will cost around 1,400. I'm not doing it through the dealership, how much do you think labor will cost and do you know of any better deals on transmissions?

Manual transmissions usually don't fail. However, clutches do fail.

...and axles come out...like I have had now twice in 2 weeks. That's is why I asked.
