Default Need help finding a GPS mount for a Magellan 4250

I'm hoping to find a mount to clip on the side of the glovebox or somewhere along the front passenger side of the center console. I don't want to stick it on windshield nor on top of the dashboard.

Has anyone have experience in finding a manufacturer that specializes in fabricating mounts for GPS?

TIA.

Default I have the same unit, came with a mount. It's thin, how about flush mount w/ Velcro?

Mine fit into my console so well, the door closes over it. I also attached the mount on the top of the cubby, so there is nothing on the bottom if I want to put envelopes there or whatever. Anyway, I'd just deal with the mount that came with it or do the flush mount thing. I hear you about the windshield mount, it's corny and nerd-ish. they get great reception, so you can go pretty low with it in the car.

Default I didn't think about a flush mount with Velcro. Thanks for the idea.

However, sorry I'm kinda brain dead right now and I can't picture where in the console you mounted your unit. I would appreciate a photo only if you have time over the weekend.

I don't have the unit yet, but I did see it at Costco and saw how compact and thin it was so I'm strongly thinking of getting one any minute now online. But I just want to justify where I can mount it best.

There will be two mounts that go with the unit, right? The windshield and a dash mount.

Default Some ideas

http://www.proclipusa.com/default.asp

I have one of the clip on vent mounts for my Garmin 660 and like it a lot. You would think that it sounds flimsy but it has worked fine for me. The other advantage is that it is close and easy to see and control in that location.

Just Google "Magellan 4250 vent mount" and you will find a bunch of sources.

Default Very good options on the ProClip as well. Thanks.

After looking at their options, I'm thinking of the ProClip Angled Mount (Item No. 852871).

Default one option is this one here....

this Proclip attaches to the left vent, you can have mine if you want, I received it last week and didn't use it because it won't work for my application.

Default Thanks for the offer x1rider. I'm gearing toward the console mount though.

The one that installs beside the radio.

Default Whoa! It's been a while since you've been here!

How's it going??

I had the radio side mount from ProClip before. I liked it, did its job, not too low and didn't get in the passenger's way.

Default Here is mine, pro-clip center vent mount with Nuvi 660. Perfect IMO

The pro-clip stickers have since been removed. You can also get the bracketron one that mounts to the side of the radio and sticks out where you want it. Check out the link.
