Which O2 sensor ???

So I have a CEL, took it to Bridge Auto Parts and it turns out as I thought that its a sensor, but here is the magical question.....which one is it?? guy that "helped" me wasn't 100% sure which one, only thing I saw was 420 code. Is their a way to figure it out???

Yep, take it to someone with a Vag-Com. It will tell you.

P0420 is for the cat, not the O2 sensor. The O2 sensors have their own codes.

I thought a flashing CEL meant a problem with the CAT?? Well at least that's what they told @ the dealer a while back... I don't think the thing they used to pull the code was very specific, going to try to fond someone with a VAG-COM......

Flashing CEL just means it is a severe fault and not to drive it very far. Failed coilpacks will cause the CEL to flash.

Also, a link to the Ross Tech website which describes the fault code and yes it points to the cat. I used to have this intermittently immediately after the car was stalled (my son's first car and learning how to drive standard). Is it on solid?

Well it was solid, the guy cleared it out, CEL no back yet......

Yes, thanks, I did some research and found that it does mean to the cat, but also says that it could be faulty sensors, faulty exhaust or cat among others, the only way to pinpoint it, is using the vag com??
