Oil Level Sensor Light

Has anyone run accross the yellow light that the manual shows as the oil level indicator coming on but it has sensor attached to it? It's not the oil pressure light that is red but it is yellow and shows up where it displays the radio stations/cd's in the center in between the tach/ speedometer. The VW dealer stated that they have never replaced a sensor and thought perhaps the sludge issue was maybe beginning. I changed the oil again,( Ise Synthetic mobil one and change every 3-4k with larger filter and there is no sign of sludge that is in the oil or in the pan (checked with a large q-tip) Didn't know if anyone might know why this is happening? I thought the oil sludge symptom was the oil pressure light?

That is, the red oil pressure light comes on even though there is plenty of oil.

That's what I would assume, but everyone keeps telling me they have never heard of the sensor going bad, it seems to me it would have to be the pressure light as it would obviously lose some pressure, I am most likely going to just replace the sensor and see what the outcome is!!
