Default Oil Min. Light symbol stayed on after adding oil.

Driving at the highway today...The Oil Symbol with the word "MIN" light up on my dash. I pulled over at a gas station and check the dipstaick and realized my oil level is way below min level (just 1/8" of oil on dipstick).

Went ahead and added 1 1/2 quarts to the engine....Dipstick is now sghows oil level is just is right at full level. But when I continue my trip to home (about 1 more hour)...The Oil Symbol Min light Stayed ON the dashboard!!?. I press the check button and everything said "OK".

Is this normal??Will the Oil Symbol Min light go away later??

It should go away. Maybe you have a faulty oil level sensor

Open the hood with the key on to reset the low oil light. If it doesn't show the hood is open with the key on, then you need a hood switch.

That's interesting. Never realized there was a connection between the hood being open (switch) and the oil sensor.
