P2138 Throttle Position Sensor
I have an Audi A4 1.8T FWD 2002 B6 model car (in the US).Recently, I got a recall service notice from Audi company and the dealer got the ignition coils changed for free. But after that, my car shows engine code light and EPC light. I used the ODBII scanner and got the error code P2138.
A local Audi specialist store used Vag-Com tool to get the DTC code 18047 Throttle position sensor (G79/G185) implausible signal. They used the software to do the throttle adaptation sequence. It was fine after that. But after about 1100 miles, the same code popped up again. I have searched online that someone replaced the gas pedal with sensors, someone replaced the wiring and ECU, or even the entire throttle body. That's what the local Audi specialist suggested.
Is it common to replace the gas pedal, ECU, or throttle body? That is expensive.... By the way, my coolant temp sensor is open or short according to the DTC code at the same time. Does it relate to the P2138 problem?
Thank you very much. Any suggestion is highly appreciated.
