Default Painted lowers - anyone paint them black?

Hello all! Long time lurker, first time poster here. I have my denim blue '02 A4 1.8T at the body shop on monday for some minor work on the front bumper, and am heavily considering getting the lowers painted to match. I'm a little concerned with the color matching down the road (as it may wear unevenly on the two surfaces), so was considering painting them black to match my splash guards. anyone else tried this? (other than those with black exteriors) I would think black would be a good choice since it would match the splash guards, and I wouldn't have to worry about it wearing unevenly - I'm just not sure how it would look (and photoshopping a pic of my car hsan't helped the decision any)

thanks for any replies

Default if lowers are painted keep it the same. black would be a waste like MB says.

plus, what do you mean wear unevenly? you mean fading? If so, they'll color match the paint so weather will take the same effect all over the car.

my concern with painting the lowers to match body color is that they might not fade evenly. If that's not an issue, then I'll go ahead and paint them to match

nah, these guys are pros. they did the work on my old 89 camry when my mom hit a deer with it a few years back, and the new hood looks good as new to this day.

I'll be sure to post some before/after pics then. thanks for clearing this up =)
