pass side xenon bulb flickers/goes out while on - 2002 with D1S style bulbs
I know that the ignitor is built into the base, and the bulbs obviously turn on so...either the bulb is old or it's the ballast.
to minimize my messing around with it, does anyone have any thoughts on this? the bulbs *are* old. in fact, they are likely oem, and again, it's a 2002.

The wire terminals on the power supply wires (Red, Brown) to the ballast, ...
often are too loose on the mating pins in the ballast when the connector is inserted. The curved spring contact inside the wire terminal, can be bent more, to restore constant contact pressure, so that when the pin is mated to the terminal connector, the circuit connection maintains constant contact despite the shocks and vibrations that occur.
FYI, One of the properties of a HID xenon lamp burner, is that because there is no filament, this type of lamp is immune from vibrations and shocks that will result in the failure of an incandescent halogen lamp, from filament failure.
