Have you consulted the wiring diagrams for your Engine Management Equipment?

There is only 1.8 AMB engine diagrams :-(

The AMB and BEX are identical, the difference is only in the ECU programming.

You can download the wiring diagrams from Audi erwin. But it cost about $17 USD.
