Please help - I need a FAQ on E-codes....
How much is it?
I already have the xenons on my car so do I need a complete kit?
Is it easy to install?
Does it void the warranty?
Where can I buy it?
What about not blinding b/c of the whole opposite driver thing?
Any other useful info or pictures would be appreciated, thanks in advance.
Cheapest but hardest to do the conversion --> supremepowerparts.com or ecstuning.com for $495 + shipping
Can still sell bare factory housings for some $
Cheap and not hard --> vagparts for $600
Can also sell bare factory housings for some $
Not cheap but ridiculously easy --> Me for $950 shipped
Can sell your complete factory HID's to someone who didn't get HID's with their car for probably quite a bit more $ than the two options above.
2)
You won't need the complete kit. You can get the housings and transfer the guts from your current factory HID's to the new Euro housings.
3)
The level of difficulty of the swap will literally depend on the amount of $ you spend to get the Euro's.
4)
Warranty will not be affected unless the cause for the broken part can be directly related to what you have done to your car.
5)
Refer to # 1

If aimed properly, there should be no "blinding effects". In fact, since the Euro cutoff is cleaner, there should be less scattered blinding light. Here are two pictures (courtesy of MarkP) showing how the beam patterns of the DoT and Euro projectors:

Hope that helps.
These lights though are OEM and of all the people that I've helped to get those lights on this forum, no one has had issues with them (knocks on wood).
