Default Please help - I need a FAQ on E-codes....

I hate the amber light and want to upgrade but don't want to do the clear corner mode.

How much is it?
I already have the xenons on my car so do I need a complete kit?
Is it easy to install?
Does it void the warranty?
Where can I buy it?
What about not blinding b/c of the whole opposite driver thing?
Any other useful info or pictures would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Default Couple of answers: (BWW for dialup users)

1)

Cheapest but hardest to do the conversion --> supremepowerparts.com or ecstuning.com for $495 + shipping
Can still sell bare factory housings for some $

Cheap and not hard --> vagparts for $600
Can also sell bare factory housings for some $

Not cheap but ridiculously easy --> Me for $950 shipped
Can sell your complete factory HID's to someone who didn't get HID's with their car for probably quite a bit more $ than the two options above.

2)

You won't need the complete kit. You can get the housings and transfer the guts from your current factory HID's to the new Euro housings.

3)

The level of difficulty of the swap will literally depend on the amount of $ you spend to get the Euro's.

4)

Warranty will not be affected unless the cause for the broken part can be directly related to what you have done to your car.

5)

Refer to # 1

6)

If aimed properly, there should be no "blinding effects". In fact, since the Euro cutoff is cleaner, there should be less scattered blinding light. Here are two pictures (courtesy of MarkP) showing how the beam patterns of the DoT and Euro projectors:

Some pictures of the Euros courtesy of Tom. (I hope you don't mind me using your pics, let me know if you do and I'll delete them.)

Hope that helps.

Thanks.

Your first option 1 says you will sell me the kit for $950 - do you have a store? What is the website?

Default Yes there is.

The vendor that we're getting these lights from offers a one year warranty. If anything goes wrong, you can send him an email (or even give him a call if you speak German) and work out the details. I believe the way he handles warranty claims is that he will actually send you out a new unit after taking a deposit on it, and then once he gets your unit, he'll refund you the deposit.

These lights though are OEM and of all the people that I've helped to get those lights on this forum, no one has had issues with them (knocks on wood).
