PPG or OEM windshield?

cr@p! Windshield cracked last nite after a bonehead move on my part. FYI be sure to make sure your windshield wipers are down against the glass BEFORE you open the hood

Anyway, it is well known that the OEM glass is pretty lousy. Has anyone had experience with the PPG replacement? Or the Safelite replacement?

for reference, installed prices:
OEM glass $576.oo (dealer)
PPG glass $482.00
Safelite glass $390.00

Go with PPG. Do a search for PPG and you'll find many satisified converts.

Whichever one you go with, make sure the installer uses high modulus windshield adhesive (more)

Go with PPG, high quality glass IMHO.

If you dont go with insurance, you should be able to get a better deal.

I was quoted 375 for PPG

Thanks guys. Going with PPG.

Got the price down a little, but keep in mind the glass needs to be shipped out here...one of the costs of living in Hawaii, everything costs just a bit more.
