Question about painting lowers...should they painted on the car, or off?
The dealer body shop that quoted $1000, said that the car is too low (even with stock sport) for them to paint with it on the car...they wouldn't be able to get good coverage on the lower/bottom portions. Is this so? I mean removing the front/rear bumpers seems like a PITA...no wonder the high cost! Should I be concerned if a shop just masks off the rest of the car and paints the lower trim while on the car?

well thats what i was told to - but i only got charged $400
My neighbor owns a body shop so he gave me a deal. He said that he normally charges $650 though. He said he took everything off except the rear bumper cause he didn't want to force it too much when he was trying to remove it. Honestly, I can't tell the difference between the rear bumper that was left on, and the pieces that he took off.
