Question on Key Replacement

Question on Key Replacement
I just purchased an Audi A4 convertible (2005). It only had one key and there was no auto lock/unlock on the key.
1) Did this model come with a key fob for unlocking?
2) Can I have a second key made most anywhere or do I have to go to a dealership? (Not one close)
3) I also need an operators manual. Source?
Thanks from a Newbie!

All B6's originally came with fobs. The only reliable way to get one is through a dealer.
As far as a manual, you will jut have to peruse ebay, amazon, or craigslist. Or, maybe go to a junk yard and see if they have a wrecked one that still has the manual in it.

Www.shokan.com or www.tomsforeign.com.
They're recyclers, and should be able to go get you a manual. Shokan is more money, generally.
The procedure to get a fob through a dealer is call the parts dept. They'll probably ask you to fax some proof of ownership and pay in advance. When it comes in you take them the car and they program the new fob and the old key. All other keys are now dead. Don't lose your valet key (non-fob) btw, or you're going to pay for a tow to the dealership.
I've heard that Audi has authorized certain independent locksmiths to do this job,but don't know how that system works. You might call Audi of America on their 800 #.

Fobs are 2x+ as much as the valet keys btw. The important thing is get that second key.
