Radio Security Code
Anyone had to use their radio security code? Took my car in this morning to get a trunk light bulb replaced and as I was leaving, I noticed that the radio said SAFE. I remembered reading about this in the manual so I dug it out and attempted to enter the code. Only problem is that the card that normally shows the code (at the front of the radio manual) is BLANK!!!
Anyone know where this is *supposed* to get filled in? At the factory? At the VPC? At the dealership at delivery?
It is fixed now but the dealer had to contact AoA and that took almost 3 hours due to a computer glitch. PITA!!!
Needless to say I'm a little bummed that somewhere along the line, this was missed. May be worth checking your manual so you don't have to go through the same ordeal that I did...

Re: The code is normally on a sticker in the spare tire well, it's also on the back of the radio.
They pulled my radio to get a number from the side of it but this was only an ID number. That number then had to be put into the AoA computer to get the "real" code.
The tech also looked briefly in the trunk but did not find the code. Not really sure exactly where he looked though.

02' & 03' SHOULD only need the code if the radio is put into another car....
Audi finally realized to KEEP the radio active if left in the same car when the power was removed. Saved MANY , MANY service calls and headaches for them.
