Re: Improper Fuel Gauge Reading -Need Advice (Long)
To preface, my car has already been to the dealer 5 times to resolve this issue. It all started when the fuel gauge wouldn't shot full when the car was filled up. Audi replaced the instrument cluster to solve the problem. This resolved showing the tank full but then when it reached 1/4 tank the car was completely empty. Audi then replaced both fuel sending units in the tank and replaced fuel pump and filter, and then calibrated the sending units to the cluster. But to no fix the tank is still empty when it has reached 1/4 tank. Audi is stumped and can't seem to locate the problem.
Does anyone had suggestions or had similar experiences. I am getting quite frustrated because it keeps going back to the dealer and they can't resolve the problem. I should mention that I have the larger injector program from APR.....would this of affected the fuel gauge reading?

quick fix....
This sounds like a MY2002 sending hose problem. The fix is to remove the "zip tie" which is clear but turns brown due to the fuel. Have the dealer remove the driver's side sending unit cover and the sending unit and remove the zip tie on the cross over suction hoses at the bottom of the sending unit. Problem solved. The problem of the tank reading full is from the sending unit arm hanging up on the suction hoses due to the zip tie being too high on them.
