Default this isn't an answer to that, although I'm sure it'll work with the right seat...

there's a technical service bulletin out for any audi, can get triple child seat tether anchors installed for free? check your local dealer....

Default Do not put a rear facing car seat in the middle of an A4 avant or sedan!

The reason why you shouldn't is that there is a fold up arm rest in the middle position. If you were in an accident, it would likely come dislodged and swing forward hitting the baby, possibly with enough force to serioiusly injure the child. Of course a front facing seat is fine once they are 12 months and 20lbs in the middle because this become null.

BTW, if you read your instructions and warnings manual for the car seat it should mention this. If not it seems like my '00 manual does mention it. I have confirmed this with a certified car seat installer/checker. This is one of the many reasons why such a large % of the people have car seats installed improperly. I would recommend having your installation inspected by such a person. If you don't know of any, often the local hospitals parenting/new parent/birthing class instructor knows of somebody that offers the service (it is free).
