a reason to be happy with the power my a4 puts out..
over in the B8 A4 forum people have been complaining that Audi is not stepping up to BMW and MB in the power output. but i, and i'm sure many of you, am perfectly happy with the 220 hp my car puts out to it's 4 wheels.
this link is a news story about an 18 yr old who killed himself and his 4 passengers this past weekend in a 2008 M5. granted the cause of death was in the driver's decisions, but this makes me ask myself if i really need a faster car. i do like to drive fast, but safety often starts with the type of car you are chosing to put yourself in.

Completely agreed, espicially in the US
A car like the Bugatti Veyron is almost a novelty, becasue even though it has 1001hp and hits 250+, there is no where in the US where you can do that legally or, I would agrue, safely. Could I cars be quicker? Absolutely. But do we all need 500hp DD's? No

power doesn't count for crap if you dont know how to control. sad story
could have been a 40 year old person who was used to driving civics for years and wins the lottery, thus buying an M5 too..parents fault just as much as the kids (if they bought it for him)
theres a reason why we put a stamp of semi approval on our own posts of "Racings bad mkkkaaay"...cause it should be on the track ...not an empty air strip that might have rubble, or trees for that matter

Its sad...
But the driver could have killed these people in a 140hp civic... Hit a berm at 100mph that has trees on the other side and you're more than likely going to die along with the occupants of your car.. Ive read plenty of stories involving young kids that die in cars that don't even make more than 200hp..
It all comes down to responsibility.. Unfortunately most parents don't teach their kids right from wrong and lack of responsibility is something that can last a lifetime..
