Remove catalytic converters
Hi there,
i have a 2003 a4 quattro 1.8t. The emmisions control light has come up on the dash and instead of replacing the cat im going to get a test pipe for it. when i install the test pipe what will i need to do with the o2 sensors? just plug them back in? will the car run normally with the standard sensors plugged back in? cheers

then screw the 2 together and install o2 sensor

the ECU is looking for a difference between the 2 sensors and this is how it determines the cats efficiency.
this wouldn't matter on state inspection, rather emissions testing. if he has a cel it will fail, thus doing this mod will allow him to pass the emissions test.
