Shopping for A4 1.8T
Quick question. What is the difference, if any, in mpg for the auto vs. manual. I am assuming a 5 speed unless I find an "ultra sport." I did a search on this forum and couldn't really determine the difference between sport package and ultra sport so if you could provide detail on that it would be appreciated. Also, if you can get a 6 speed, how does that improve mpg. My commute is mostly highway.

6 speed will improve the mpg is but as far as I know by very little.
1.8t had a 5 speed from 2002 to 2003 and 6 speed from 2004 to 2005.
Ultrasport package was mostly cosmetical (diff. bumper and wheels).

Thanks for the info. So now I will start my search. I would actually rather have the 17" wheels given my intended use. I will leave the expensive tire purchases for the M5.
