I really don't want a front license plate....do the A4's come from the factory with holes? Or does the dealer drill them and attach the front mounting plate?

Is it cool if I ask them NOT to do it?

Oh yeah, and i live in in Northern Virginia...am i gonna get pulled over for not having a front plate?

thanks!

Default That was my only condition at delivery, no holes! You can rig your plate down lower or bend back the

top and bottom to make it thinner.

You could order a Euro-Plate with the correct digits and take your chances.

Default Some states require that the dealer install the front frame/holder.

If the DMV inspector visits the lot and sees cars ready for sale without the front plate, the dealer can get fined.

We front plated all our VWs because the profit margin was too small to make it worth the potential fines. On an Audi, we did not put on front plates. Sometimes when we did dealer trades, the other dealer would have put plates on the car already.

I told my dealer if they drilled those holes in my bumper then they could find a new buyer.

Default Two things: The European bumper is different, and how do you attach the bracket to the bumper?

The European bumper is molded to accept the European plate. Don't you have to drill to attach the Eiroplate frame to the bumper?

Default yes--you have to drill two holes ...

to attach the bracket--the same two holes (distance
in between) as for U.S. plates. No way around that I know of
