Soft Top Not Secure
I have a 2004 A4 cabriolet and experienced a warning message that my soft top was not secure. After reading many posts that I found on google, it appeared that I was in store for an expensive trip to the dealer. Many postings said that it was a micro sensor failure. I spent two days listening to the annoying audible alert and message on my instrument panel. I decided to investigate all the places these sensors might be located. When inspecting the two latching mechanism's I discovered that the 4 bolts holding them in place were loose causing the latches to wiggle and move in place. I got a star wrench and tightened them down again. Long story short, the error disappeared. SO before you make that trip and get sensors replaced, check to see that your latches are good and tight.

You may find someone on here that will have answers, but you might also take a look at the A4 B6 cabriolet forum. Not a lot of activity, but a quick expansion to 3 months worth of threads showed one very promissing one.
