So i have a 2004 a4 3.0 and have some problems with the tiptronic trans. the rpms kinda junps up and down on the dash and i can feel it like someone gives me a little push whenever the rpms drop. Other than that and the paint the car is in exellent shape, just wanted to ask if someone knew what could be the cause of the jumping

Maybe the torque converter clutch locking and unlocking, due to slip being excessive. I think that this can become common to all of the 5HP19 transmission to one degree or another. If you have VCDS on a laptop, watch the TC clutch field in the transmission module, to see if that's what's happening. Annoying but affects mileage to an insignificant extent in my experience.

Wow a vcds is really expensive.. what does it do tho? Like does it fix the problem or does it just identify the problem?
