Default Spoke with Neuspeed today regarding chip, they have standard (1.2 bar) but also a 1.5 bar.. (more)

..the "1.2 bar" is said to be spike/peak boost at the 3000-5000 range, which levels out to ~1.0bar to redline.

The 1.5 chip is said to spike/peak at the same rpm band, and drop down to about 1.1 bar to redline. This is supossedely done with STOCK exhaust.

The said if I go w/ the 1.5 chip (same price: $350), I will not receive any warranty in case something happens (ECU), whereas they will assume full liability on the ECU if i got the 1.2 chip.

Anyone tried the 1.5 chip that has any experience? Neuspeed "claims" that the 1.5 chip will be a lot more aggressive than the conventiona; 1.2 chip (including GIAC and APR..etc)...?

Thanks

In regards to the ECU, why not warranty the 1.5 compared to the 1.2?

Default I guess the chances for problems are more likely w/ higher boost? (more)

...and 1.5 bar boost will be more strenuous on the turbos than 1.2, and they are therefore disclaiming the blown turbos. (which can still be covered by a dealer cool enough).

They said they will only warranty their craftsmanship and work (bad soldering...etc). I still do not quite understand myself though. So they're saying they'd replace my turbo if i blew them on a 1.2?

I will call them again tomorrow to confirm.

Default the 1.5 bar chip is farily new, and still being observed in cars... they have a few cars with (more)

it running around, so in a way they are still testing it. From who i spoke with, it is considered more of a race chip because of the high performance output, and they cant guarantee it yet b/c they havent had it out long enough to see if there are big problems. Although from the cars that are out there with the 1.5, there have been no problems so far.

Neuspeed said "not a whole lot of HP gains, but rather quicker spool-up and more bottom/mid torque"
