telephone system

anyone have the phone integrated into the car? I didn't get his option but wondered how it worked for those who have. Does your existing phone plug in somewhere and use the cars audio system or is the car equipped with some other phone which you are stuck with?

Finally, can u install this option later..once you have your car?

you can install anytime - its an aftermarket kit

dont have it, but saw it in dealer when i signed my paperwork.

Do you know if that aftermarket kit can be installed by itself..i.e. since the digital phone will come with the Onstar package, does the use of the phone have anything to do with the Onstar interface..?

not sure about OnStar interface IMO Onstar is a pipe-dream

You sure about that?

I'm pretty sure that if you didn't order the car with the phone, it CANNOT be added later. This will of course change with the newly-built cars, but many 2002s will not be able to use the new V60 phone.
