How does the thermal r&d race exhaust sound on a 1.8T? Just want to make sure my german car doesn't sound like a japanese scooter . Thanks for the help.

Default haven't personally heard thermal, only heard clips
it's not bad...a good exhaust for sure if you want a good but not ricey sound is APR

Default it doesnt sound anyhting close to a coffee can muffler...its an awesome tone.i was worried about (M)
that as well but i was EXTREMELY happy with the actual sound of it.

Default only thing that bothers me about it and prevents me from considering it further
is I want slanted tips, and they don't offer those so far as I can tell...

Default love the tips and exhaust too. If u want slanted take it to a shop..
and have them customize it

If you want something relatively quiet and smooth, go with APR.

Default could i get it thru the ecode tuning group buy though
if i could do that, that would be very tempting...i just think slanted tips look so much better on our cars...personal thing i guess...

Default don't know whether e-code would do it for you or not...I would say contact them....
but i'll tell ya, i've seen slanted tips on an A4, and I just wan't diggin it. The back of the car has such a nice round shape to it...the slash cut tips are a little too hot rod for it I think.
