You said you did it once, once wont wer the tranny
I think first gear redlines just above 35mph correct? We you doing it while slowing down or were you on the gas looking for more torque?

35mph???....
Are you sure? One click would have made you go into 2nd. A second later you would have gone into 1st. I'm betting that your foot was off of the gas when it started to shift.
The tranny is programed so that you can't do stoopid stuff. Even if the engine redlined (which I find it hard to believe), the rev limiter would have kicked in.
I do manage to "downshift" into 1st in WOT at 25-27mph. The car will jump into 1st and be at 5800rpm, hit 6500 and then jump back into 2nd.
In short, you are fine. Tips are idiot proof.
And yes. I have a tip.

I AutoX A lot....
During an AutoX you are between 1st and 2nd about a dozen times with RPM's between 800 and 6500.
Relax.
No problems.

1st of all - stop talking on your cell phone and drive
2nd - if 1st gear is too low of a gear, the computer would not let you shift into it. That's one of the points about having a Tip. In manual you can do whatever you want, here the computer still restricts on what you can and cannot do.
Either way, pay attention to your driving and stop talking on your cell phone.
