Default Tire noise/wear with Michelin Primacy

I've got 15,700 miles on my car and my tires have started making a lot noise. I took it to a tire store and they said the tires are cupped. I've had them rotated every 5K. Anyone else have a problem, I know that you typically only get about 20K out of these tires and I think I'm going to an all season tire when I replace them. I have the sport package but live in Atlanta and would prefer a quieter ride with longer tire life. Any suggestions?

Default cupping is usually caused by rapid heat-cycling. As far as all-season replacements...

look at Michelin Pilot Sport A/S, Sumitomo HTR+, Dunlop SP5000, Bridgestone RE950, or even Falken ZE-512.

Default I bought my car with 8K miles and have exactly the same..

problem. When I took off the winter wheels and rotated the Primacy's, -it was terrible. Hit 63 mph and the noise was really distracting. I returned them to their original locations and would like anyones advice on what to do. This sucks! the tires have lots of tread left but I can't move them except side to side. Is this a good idea? Will a side to side rotation help with longenvity?

Default stupid question?...

are the primacys directional? if so I woudlnt recommend side to side, just front to rear, for obvious reasons of course

nope, haven't heard anything, other than it doesn't come in size 235/45/17 which he needs.

Default I originally thought so, but ...

I could not find any marking on the tire that said so. If anyone thinks otherwise, please let me know before rotation.

btw...there are no stupid questions!

Default I recommend the Toyo FZ4 and it is avalible in the 235/45/17.....

longer life (around 40-50K) and still gives you a semi high performance tire. It is also quiet. You are right, the TPT does not come in a 235/45/17 yet, maybe the end of the year

Default I'm assuming the FZ4 is more "sporty" than TPT, right?

TPTs look like basic touring tires with emphasis on long wear and comfort.
