Default Tire Reccomendations...

I need to start thinking about summer tires for my 18"s. I could use reccomendations. I'm looking for a 235/40/18, good performance, good ride. I don't care so much about the noise, I just want a fairly smooth ride and something that will grip well in the turns. I would like them to last at least two seasons of use (i.e. 7 or 8 months of '07, 7 or 8 months of '08). I also don't want to spend a lot of money on them, around $600 mounted/balanced would be sweet. So thanks for any help and reccomendations you can offer. BTW, I know I can look on tire rack but I want to see what you guys use/have used and what you like/don't like. Thanks

Default I'm going for the General Exclaim UHPs, $100 each for 18s (235/40/18). Great reviews and

performance for the money. Did a bunch of searching here and on AZ.

Default get wheels/tires bundled for $700

at edgeracing.com. . . I am not affiliated. Just happened to check their site when responding to a post below

I bought from them before and had excellent service.

Think he already has wheels, just looking for the tires. But not bad, $700 for wheel/tire bundle.

Default no reading comprehension ---->

Actually, I read his post a while back.. . but remembered only the tires and $600 part. I glossed over the I've got 18s part.

Default Hankook K104 at $115 per tire in 235/40/18...

Has the highest speed rating of Y-rated and is a very quietly kept doable summer tire. It's not perfect but it's a good bargain tire.

Default Kuhmos are inexpencive and heard good things about them...

personal experience..

i hate falkens..will never buy or drive on them again.

Sumitomos..great ride but a little soft

Toyo Proxes...found my tire for life...pricey but can beat on them all day long

Default I wont buy another Kuhmo....

last set I had wore out in less than 6 months, and wore very unevenly. Main reason I went to Falkens. Had 115's, 512's and now their 452's.

To date, never a single problem, they last, ride good, and wear evenly. Good price too! :O)
