Default transmision slip only 90,000miles

im no audi expert but i replaced a water pump on 03 quattro a4 1.8t this summer now tranny is sliping she said it slowly got worse after that. someone else told her its because the timing is off i said there no way. the car idles fine and does not seem to miss at fast idle in park but when you drive it and goes in overdrive at 2000 rpm tach jumps up and down between 1800 and 2000 rpms so would this be possiable, do you guys check timming with a light or by computer

Don't know what transmission you have or given VAGCOM codes to help diagnose. If you have a CVT, you may be experiencing a bad CVT.

You will have to pull a phone book out...oops dated myself out...smart phone out and search for a VW / Audi specialist. There are usually serveral although don't know where you live. I have a maunual, but believe there is a solenoid that controls overdrive. Be skeptical of anyone saying you need a completely new tranny...
