Which tyres? Please help! 205-55-16 or 225-50-16
I really need some advice please.
I've managed to buy 4 brand new Bridgestone 225-50-R16's at a good price, I wanted to upgrade from the mixture of 205-55-R16 brands that are currently fitted.
Having gone to get them put on by a known tyre dealer, I was informed that they are too big for my A4 2.5tdi Sport 2003.
I would really appreciate anyone's help with information on this?
I was reasonably sure that the 225's wouldn't cause a problem but now I'm doubting my decision.
The chap I spoke to said it would cause all kinds of problems with my suspension and handling.
The Bridgestones I have bought are 225-50-R16's Potenza RFT RE050 Run Flat.
If anyone knows about this more than I do I'd be really pleased with your help! Thanks in advance!

the two tires that you listed are virtually exactly the same size. The new size is 0.1" smaller in circumference (information per tire size calculator on miata.net) rest easy ...........

Agreed don't worry about. I did the same plus sizing on my 1998 B5 A4 that I used to own - no issues at over the 4 years I had those tires on.
