Vibrations on highway...
Has any of you guys with the Sport Package experienced vibrations, expecially at highway speeds, of the whole car??? I took it in to check and they told me it is the balance of the tires. And they added that with the 17' it is easy for it to happen. Heck I can feel it again...

Re: Vibrations on highway...
I've had similar problems in the past on other autos. Is it always on the same road? Did they check the rims for defects? Did they check the tires for defects? Was the rebalance a temp. fix at all?

Have them balanced by a Hunter GSP balancer.
Can detect the difference between out of balance, bent rim, or tire out of round.
Go to the Hunter website and look up dealers. Call and see who has GSP - not everyone does.

Yes, mine has sport package and it vibrates...
at speeds above 75. The vibration seems to be coming more from the rear (thankfully). I've now got about 3500 miles, and when it goes in for the 5K service, I'm going to have them balance the tires and maybe rotate them. It's one of the few disappointments with the car. My 328i just seemed to get smoother and smoother as speed increased. If it doesn't turn out to be a balance problem, I'm going to regret the sport suspension.

What I found out...
is that the speed does not necessarily count. But it never happened under 40-50 mph. I felt it a little yesterday on the highway @ 70. But usually when I slow down and then accelerate again it disappears... I am hoping too this tires in the sport package are not so sensitive...

Vibes everywhere...
Well I dorve a GTI for 2 years and never a problem. It is irrespecetive of the road, surface conditions. And I guess they did all of the above you say when they check my balance. Will go back in a month and see what they can do...

Sounds familiar...(more)
I had a similar situation a few years ago. Try to isolate the location (front, rear, left right)
Then get ready to be persistent.
First I went to have the wheels balanced. Better, but not fixed. When I went back, they looked a bit closer and blamed it on a tire defect. After the new tire (warranty) the problem still stuck around. Next they blamed it on a rim defect. As they put the new tire on the new rim, (while I looked over their sholder) I explained how I had a tendency to drive rather quickly. After my five minute explaination of the importance of wheel balancing the problem mysteriously disapeared. The actual cause? But it should be curable.
