All I can say its about damn time this board was updated. I love the content here, but the old format just made it impossible to work with, at least for me. More like using a BBS from the late 80's than anything remotely modern. The newer format is more curent and you get things like thread bumps with new posts, the ability to read a thread without opening 130 different links and so much more.

Love it, thanks admins for stepping up!

Though it is more "modern" now and like all other boards, its harder to pick and choose the replies you want to read. Like with the old format, there could be 10 different replies to the thread you started but only one that actually has to do with what you're looking for. You could then click on that reply alone. But with vB, you have to open the entire thread and read through all the replies, want to or not.

It was something unique to AW for sure. Though I am use to the vB format with other forums I frequent, I'll have to get use to AW using it now.

What a drag! Seriously, the value in the old set-up was that you had options and variation. If you wanted this, you posted over at AZ.

Exactly. And when people start using poor subject descriptions, it'll get worse. I liked the old format's ability to have "branched" replies when it was necessary, or convenient. This format doesn't allow it, or does so much more in a cumbersome manner.

But well, I'm sure they aren't going back, so this forum is now like one of the many others out there. <sigh>

Like it.

And yes it's like AZ and 99% of the other forum formats out there. I used to avoid and not post at all because of the BBS format, but now I think with the upgrade I will (and others) will find it easier to post and reply, and will do it more often.

AW guys, the real enthusiasts will stick on the site and back you up on the upgrade. Make sure to thank them for their support!
