Default What are dealer handling, registration fees & tax typically in CA?

The sales tax in my county is 8.25% So I figured roughly 10% in addition to sale price for all the extras (dealer handling, registration etc) included?

Thanks,
Peter

Default Thanks!

Speaking from personal experience by any chance ? Looking to see what others were charged in the area.

Thanks again

Picked up my Dolphin Saturday in Sacramento. Registration-$284.; Doc. prep.--$45.; Shipping-$645. Sac. dealer advertising $145. (Paid exactly 4% over dealer invoice).

Default 9% to 10% on top of cash price is a rule of thumb.

On my deal on Sunday, the cash price for the vehicle was $30,000. The total amount to be financed was $32,616. Tax was $2328.29, doc fee was $45, license fee was $238, and the tire fee was $5.

So, the rule of thumb of about 9%-10% is the safe assumption.

Before the change in vehicle registration fees in CA, the license fee would have been over $430 for the car!

Default Multiply your final agreed price by 1.1 and you should get out the door price..

So, about 10% on top.
