Default Who has had gas gauge/tank issues fixed yet ? Dealer says nothing wrong ...

I will park the car at night with 1/4 tank and the computer says I have 120 - 160 km range laft on the tank. In the morning when I start the car the tank is empty and the trip says 0 km range ! ! ! Dealer couldnt find anything wrong and I couldnt remember what the solution actually was for those that have had this problem.

TIA

I think another post had the fuel sender replaced. Do a "gauge"search.

I had my sender unit replaced two weeks ago. Supposedly they have to drain your fuel tank too for that.
Does anybody have a problem with MPG computer? mine can go from 20 to 16 mpg while waiting for the light to switch. In my BMW it took forever to get the average to go up or down a mile

Default Are you in average mode for MPG or current?

There's two different MPG counters - one is averaged and the other is current. The one for averaged has a sort of null symbol next to it (a circle with a slash through it). It should not changed rapidly after you have accumulated a few miles of driving time for that computer.

Default Re: I am in Average mode

This is the one I am talking about. The one with a zero. Last night I was driving home and I noticed that problem. It drops 1/10 of a mile every 7-10 seconds. And I've driven about 180 miles on this tank. What is the difference between 1 and 2? I don't think you can reset #2 computer, right? As I said I had gas gauge problems and I am wondering if sending unit is not working right

Default My dealership in Seattle thinks they figured it out...

After days of swapping parts, sitting overnight and taking fuel sending unit readings, have replaced both sending units. I'm just now getting down under a half a tank, so I'll be keeping an eye on it. I'll let you guys know if it's fixed.
