why does my parking brake dash icon beep and blink on and off like its paid to do so?

You can just add, but if the fluid is very old, you might want to flush.

thanks for you help. it is not that old. i put new rotors pads and ss lines on somewhat recent..

how many miles do you consider to be very old?

No prob...Under normal use, I'd flush it about once a year.
