Why does it seem the rear brakes produce much more dust than the front ones?

Huh?
Front wheels produce more brake dust because most of the stopping power comes from the front because that is where the weight shifts upon braking. = more dust on front.
Thats the way it used to be anyway....technology change this??

This has been discussed a few times. A few reasons given..........
Bob Petruska posted a while back that the ESP system produces more rear braking, thus more dust. The rear dusting should be reduced if you turn off the ESP.
It's also been posted that the rear pads are softer to reduce noise.

I was curious about that too, but never asked or looked.
Interesting. I thought the brake biasing was more to the rear, which made no sense, but the combination of ESP and softer pads do.
