Default Windshield washer jet fuse blew again.

This is the 4th time in 3 winters. I was careful last winter not to put on my washers when my headlights were on as that seems to be the problem. When the headlight washers freeze down it blows the fuse. I know that fuses don't cost anything but what a pain to keep replacing. Also I can't see a danm thing for the time that the fuse is blown. Anyone have any solutions for this?

same thing happened to me on the way work this morning. my windshield was so filthy that i took out the 30A fuse for the trunk 12V outlet and used that instead of the 20A (why Audi can't include some extra fuses I don't understand). Washers work great now, but I hope the higher amperage fuse doesn't mess up the motor.

Default Fuses are often meant to protect wiring, not modules. You should get a 20A

fuse back into that slot just in case (and pick up a few extra for the glove box).

Good idea. As I understand it fuses are meant to protect the (power) distribution system.

Default Exactly. Most electrical modules have reverse battery, double battery, ....m...

power drop out, ESD and other electrical protection circuitry. Wiring has nothing, other than fuses and relays, and to replace a wiring harness can be nothing short of a PITA, depending on length and location.

my washer jets are out as well. Where is the fuse??? It is not in the panel inside the driver front door as far as I can tell. Thanks.
