Default Which would u pick Fiberglass or ABS plastic? and why?

I have seen the Reiger replica kit made out of fiberglass and the real one is abs plastic. Which would you rather have? The price is about few hundred difference but the bodyshop told me you can repair fiberglass but abs plastic just breaks. I wish it was polyeurethane but it's between those to so which would you guys get and why? I'm thinking maybe fiberglass because even if you scrape they're both going to crack and chip the same...

Default it is the other way

fiberglass breaks way easier
my friend's subaru with a replica kit
he hit someone with his front and whole bumper cracked, need replacement

ABS i think is way harder than fiberglass?

polyeurethane is what i m getting (votex) but looks ugly...

Default ABS is more flexible so it can deflect things more than fiberglass... Fiberglass will chip paint

faster as well...Fiberglass cracks way easier that also, thas why its cheaper... Your sorta get what you pay for :-)

Default True. Fiberglass is usually the weakest, ABS sensitive to vibration, and urethane the most durable

but expensive to produce.

Fiberglass chips or cracks. ABS gets hairline stress cracks and shatters with prolonged vibration. Urethane ( or polyurethane ) costs a lot to create a mold and produce, but has the best durability of the bunch. If not done correctly, it can sag.

The strength of the Fiberglass parts depends on how they are made. If they use a chopper gun, which is spraying fiberglass threads into a mold, it can be weak. If they lay up the fiberglass in sheets in a mold and roll out the air pockets in the Resin it can be very strong. They can vacumn bag the parts to make sure all air is removed, again, high strength. Fiberglass can be repaired very easyily compared to the ABS. The ABS and Urethane require special adhesives or plastic welding to repair cuts and tears. They also require special primers for the paint to bond. Do not be afraid of fiberglass, millions of Boats and Cars are made entirely of Fiberglass.

Default I agree...went off a curb and tweaked my abt front...it popped out of its fasteners but no paint...

chipped and no cracks or breakage come from it. If it was fiberglas, it woulda been over.
