Yakima rack for A4 Sedan only....testimonies
I'm getting tired of stuffing in 2 mtn bikes in the back, its tedious. Any fitment issues? Has the rack caused damage to the rubber door seals or the door/jam, ect? Would you buy the rack again vs Thule and OEM Audi? BTW: I've exhausted the search feature.

I have a Yakima rack
It works great. I can take it on and off in about 2 minutes.
One advantage of Yakima over a factory rack may be that if for some unimaginable reason you buy a car other than an Audi you could switch the rack by only changing the clips that attach it to the car. For example, the one on my Audi was previously on a 4Runner. I don't know if that's possible with an Audi rack.

get the thule rack with yakima trays. thats what i have, look at my pics. look in your door, there should be holes with white arrows pointing to them. the thules have slots that go in these holes, and it makes setting things up easier. i think thule makes the factory ones, but i dont like how they look, and i dont know if the factory rack has a fering or not. the yakima trays (viper) are better than the thule trays, and they fit on both round or square bars. another cool thing about the thule rack is that the front fering looks allot cooler than the yakimas. holler if you have any questions.

Love the Yakima! Don't do the OEM rack!

I have had my Yakima rack for a long time. I've used the same rack for my Jettas, my A4, B5 S4, and now on my B6 A4 Avant. The beauty of the Yakima or Thule setups is that you can keep the crossbars and the accesories/mounts and use them on other cars by just changing the towers.
Don't buy the OEM rack. It's a waste of money - you'll never sell it for anything near what you paid for it, and if you don't plan on keeping your car for a long time you'll either lose the money you spent on the rack, or it will collect dust in your garage after you sell your car.
