Thinking about adding a monitor to the car but I want to keep the stock HU and get an external screen with an external DVD player. How would I go about tapping the DVD player into the stock HU for sound? Would I use a Blitzsafe? Have anyone done this? Also I was thinking about using Icon-TV 6.5 monitors for a screen. Anyone got more info on it? I want to use it not at a headrest monitor but for up front. The quality of the picture on the screen is very nice.

the best screens are sharp. about 65% of the screens out there are made by sharp anyway. if you have bose its pretty simple too. you do have to get an adapter to get sound off an additional dvd player you add.

Re: Would it be a blitzsafe type deal tapping into the AUX cd changer input of the HU?
i did go with aftermarket, kenwood excelon 7" flip out toch screen. O nly thing is if you want it to look clean you have to have a custom radio kit made. NONE of the kits out there for audis fit correctly. they all have big gaps on the top or bottom. Tweeters, Best Buy carry the faceplate for your radio but there is a 5mm gap on the top. The best thing to do is get one custom made.
