2.0 4 cylinder ALT VVT removal/ gasket
Hi all, I have a A4 B7 with ALT engine. Recently did a head gasket change but when dismantleing the head, I tried to remove the VVT solenoid HOUSING from the back of the inlet cam, it seemed like it didn't want to come off so I left it attached and did the head rebuild without changing the gasket. Needless to say, I now have a small weep from the housing. Questions are:
How does the housing remove from the back of the inlet cam? Is it just the sticktion of the seals holding the shaft of the housing inthe cam oor is there more than the 3 torx bolts that hold the housing to the head? I noticed there is a ring of torx screws on the back of the vvt module on the cam but don't see why you would need to undo them for a gasket replacement.
Does anyone have the part numbers for the seals that go on the shaft that slides inside the rear of the inlet cam? I already have the gasket.
Note, it's not the solenoid itself I'm trying to remove, it's the housing.
Thanks all.
