2006 order becomes a 2007 order ? Or not ?
Hi
ordered a 2006 A4 avant (fairly loaded) in March. Order was supposed to be submitted the week we ordered. Delivery was supposed to be June (due to ending of current non-Audi lease). I was told that the order went in, and to expect it around June. For sport, I emailed 2 weeks ago, to find out how the build was going... and I was the order missed the 2006 build somehow, and that they'd work something out on a 2007 for me.... and then yesterday, that they somehow GOT a 2006 order placed for the exact model... but it wouldn't be in until July.
WTF ?
Anyone have any experience or advice on this ? I like the dealership and salesperson we're dealing with, but I'm not sure what to make of this. Also, don't know what I can do about the month I'll be without a car.

Well, since your dealer seems to have messed up in placing the order in a timely manner, and since you are currently in a lease, let your dealer go to bat for you in working with your current lease company to extend the lease one month or let your dealer provide you with a loaner for a month. Realize this dealer only told you something was wrong when YOU asked. They did not ring you on their own to tell you there is a problem. Ultimately, you owe this dealer nothing, and now they should work hard to keep you a customer, by the very least making sure you have transportation for the month between the end of your current lease and delivery of your new car. And don't let them convince you to take something off the lot, unless the price is fabulous, as taking something off the lot is doing the dealer a favor.
