a4 vs passat

I am deciding between an 2006 a4 quattro 2.0 with 44,000 miles vs a 2008 passat with 30,000 miles. the a4 is cpo, the passat is not. They are the same price. What would you do?

I went with the 2.0 a4 quattro over the 3.2 passat quattro. Better mileage and style. You could see if they will knock off some if you don't want the CPO warranty. Usually a $1200-1700 discount.

i'd keep the CPO'd warranty if I were you. I'd go for the A4 as well, its definatly a more upscale experience than the VW. I also drive a VW Touareg as well......

Hey AudiLover

A friend of mine recently had this same dilema...

At the end of the day it came down to "room" for him. The Passat had the 280HP 3.6 VR6 and the A4 the 2.0T. Yes the 3.6 loves the "juice", but it also gave the Passat plenty pep. The Passat was also cheaper, can you believe that! He decided on the additional room. IMHO, as far as styling goes, the Passat is still top notch. His is loaded so he has all the bells and wistles an A4 would/could have.

So I guess you need to ask yourself if you are buying this car for the "room" or the "driving experience". I would say the A4 will be more fun to drive as the Passat is bigger and heavier so it will be a little slower.. assuming they both have the 2.0T...
