Acceleration/Throttle Response (A4 B7 3.2L quattro)
My 2005.5 A4 3.2L quattro tiptroinc has a very aggressive throttle adaptation setting. From my understanding, the A4 B7 ECUs try and predict your driving habits and adapt the acceleration response to suit your driving style. However, the response that my car settles on is hyper-reactive. So much that the car lurches forward with the slightest touch of the gas peddle. It appears to stay in first gear for a long time. This can be corrected by resetting the throttle body (holding down the gas peddle while tuning on and off the key without starting the engine). Unfortunately this has to be done every couple days.
My questions are:
1) Has anyone else experienced this problem?
2) Can you turn off adaptation with VAG-COM?
3) Once the ECU is reset, the transmission shift points appear to be at lower RPMs. Is there a way to chip the transmission to correct this problem?
I have taken the car into the Audi dealer and they can't seem to find any problems. Any help from the user community would be appreciated.
